Dealt with the Camera Gear Store once ordered a back drop after 6 weeks of fighting with them my item finally arrived from China. The Camera Gear Store stocks nothing when you place an order they place an order with someone else and have it shipped to you usually from China. I had to file a formal complaint with ebay in order to get my item

The best advise I can give you is to buy from a reputable dealer and to buy a brand name tripod. There are many to choose from.

Yes it looks comparable to many tripods on Amazon for less than half of their $249 price. A no-name tripod listing for $499 is not really a $499 tripod. It's an artificial list price to make their selling price look good. Without a brand name on it there's no way to verify a REAL list price. Stick to reputable sellers that will stand behind their products.

My wife has bought me a couple of cheep items from them that have worked out just fine for cheep gear with no problems .that said ,I have not had to deal with them on any problems .

I would suggest adding KEH to that list Jerry. In the past I had outstanding customer service from them on an order and just received a used lens from them with another order. Again the customer service was outstanding, the price excellent, and the lens was better than described.
