Do you know if the sap is rising in the maples yet? Would that be a sign that spring is on its way? Glad we're going to have mid 60's in the high mountain desert of New Mexico.

Yikes! No wonder your dog looks so sad.

Earnest Botello ... thanks for the comment & in particular about the shot of Gem. She's an amazing companion, particularly living alone in a very remote spot. Thanks for looking.

I could dig on seeing a winter like (1) that in the country like that. Its been a while down here. Maybe 2010 for the last real snow.

Thanks for the encouragement tcthome ... but at this juncture, I'd gladly share some of what we have!! ;)

DragonsLady ... yes, in deed, the sap is running ... before & after that storm, it's been up above freezing most days but dips down to the teens each night ... perfect weather for sugaring. So yes, that is a good sign that Spring is coming. But I'm envious of your mid-60's in NM ... that is a beautiful part of the country. A college buddy & I are actually driving through NM soon ... love that state.

Rich Maher ... you got a chuckle out of me with that comment ... I thought maybe I'd get some sympathy if I took a selfie ... but the dog is a whole lot cuter. Thanks for responding.

You have some snow to deal with. Good luck. Nice images.

Blair Shaw Jr ... thank you sir, for the positive feedback ... as for the snow, it's part of the package of living up here ... I figured I might as well enjoy it. I thought about adding a shot with some plastic pink flamingos ... but didn't want to take my camera out in that wet snow.
