Gas Station

Hi cjkorb: It was interesting to note the first photo is of the old Bomber service station. Although you can't see it in the photo the "Bomber Cafe" was right behind the service station. Though the station is no longer there the cafe still is. "The Bomber Cafe" sits on Hwy 99 E. in Milwaukie Oregon. They have lots of great pictures in the cafe and the food isn't half bad either. Should you want to take a walk down memory lane it's a great place to visit of take time for a photo op.

i again cjkorb: You're more than welcome. There is an interesting story behind how the plane ended up there in the first place. I'm just hoping I can keep my facts straight. Seems the owner of the service station, bought the plane as a war surplus item after the war. The plane had never seen combat. He went back east to pick it up then started flying it back to his station. Two things to note, he was not an experienced pilot and he wrote hot checks for the fuel to get it home. When he got there he had to run to the bank to cover the checks he had written...lol...I remember reading that some where, I just don't recall where or when... Makes for a great story even if it is or isn't the truth...
