Last week was a beautiful day at my local beach (Laguna Beach). I took my camera and tripod to specifically shoot HDR images. (please check them out in the HDR section). I also took many photos that were not done in HDR. Below is a few that I liked for different reasons. Hopefully you also will enjoy them.
The first two are the same photo only cropped differently. Which do you prefer? The first has a small plane pulling an advertising banner. The second is cropped tighter without the plane.

The last two photos are of the Lifeguard tower. The first is the standard photo while the second has a watercolor filter run on it. Do you have a preference?

Nice shots Brent, I like them all. It is not a subject I get to see much of in real life (being from the midwest). I think of the first two the second one is my preference, no that the first was bad, just gave me too much to look at. If it had been my picture, I think I would have cut out the sky all together, I see more depth then. Now the last two, I like the first the best, cause it looks real... I know it is a matter of preference :thumbup: .

Yes, I certainly do like them, and my favorites are 1, 2 and 3. I like the 2nd crop the best. Really well done, Brent.

I'll buck the trend and give my vote for the original uncropped with the plane. Nice series, sure different from the ice and snow on the local beaches!

Well, here goes. I like both of the life guard tower, and we have the same Geico flag flying up here in Los Angeles. As for the rest of the beach shots....nice shooting'!

I've come to the conclusion that everyone has different tastes and likes. What is to crude for you is just fine for me! Not saying that you are wrong, just a different taste than mine.
