Jackie Mason on Starbucks

Starbucks = More yuppie scumbag rhetoric. :-)
A local coffee shop around here even gives away free coffee on the first of every month. Every other day it's $1.25.
RON K . yes, I think I know where you mean . ( upstate also )
Thanks for posting this. I LOVE Jackie Mason. He is a genius of comedy and observation. I believe he was a great inspiration for Steinfeld. I was so happy that Starbucks closed over 1000 stores during the recession. It was the only news I heard DURING the recession that made me happy. I was giddy about it, and told every one of my Starbuck's loving friends about it- every chance I could. Then they rebounded, and I was very depressed.
EVERYthing Mason says is true!
This posting made my day!
Where upstate - at least approximately? Please don't tell me you live in Orange County - that's not upstate.

Jackie Mason isn't my favorite, but he absolutely nails it with this one. I've had Starbucks coffee maybe 2-3 times (somebody gave me a gift card, which still has some $$$ left on it). WAY overpriced, bitter, and definitely NOT "an experience" I'd care to repeat.
Outside our house, coffee is "brown liquid" until proven otherwise. Starbucks is brown something-or-other. Not sure if it qualifies as brown liquid.
As an agriculturist with over 30 years of experience in Africa, I buy my coffee from Cafe Cristina.com. These folks are friends and I have visited their farm in Costa Rica. The coffee is grown, picked, processed, roasted, packaged and mailed from their farm. It is all organic, sun-dried, wet processed coffee - and delicious. I'm a one cup a day - occasionally two - coffee drinker and I use a stainless steel Italian stove-top expresso pot to make my coffee.
Yep, there are many 'rituals' involved in coffee from bean to cup.
I buy the equivalent coffee at a local "beanery" and it's half price. Can't tell the difference twixt that and Starbucks.
there is a 'buckies' [as my friends call it] near where I live
lets see
we get free wifi-- unlimited downloading
comfortable PADDED chairs to sit on
free refills with the registered card AND bonus points that you can redeem for a sandwich [which are good tasting] coffee/tea etc
friendly service with people knowing your name and asking the usual?
so 1 cup of tea for $2.05 and unlimited refills over a 3-4 hour session visiting with friends-pretty good deal I would think
--other coffee shops
crappy coffee-no wifi at all- shoddy service--etc etc
thanks but Starbucks will do nicely and got a good return on the stocks!!
You seem to have the same problem as I - I did not buy their stocks either.
I love Starbuck's straight coffees, but hate the stores. They speak in a language I don't care to waste my time learning.
I too, drink my coffee black. Tried Starbucks once. Tasted like C - - p. I guess that by the time they finish putting all that other junk in there, it covers up the taste of BAD. My favorite spot is Sonic, in Merced Ca. There is a Sonic in Atwater, but the coffee doesn't taste as good as Merced's. Maybe it's the water ? Maybe it's in my head ? Just my 2cw.

i dont know where you are coming from. But, i go to Starbucks every morning to have a cup of COFFEE. Not the fru-fru drinks. It costs me $1.85, (i have my own cup) and REFILLS ARE FREE !!!!!After every 12th cup i get a free food item. I dont know where you get your info from, but its wrong I havent paid for a refill in over a year.
