I just love looking at others awesome photos here and I can bet most of you have hundreds of images and many external hard drives full of more pics. I want to post some more of mine but I want to know what you want me to post. Any suggestions?

Val, there are only a small handful of people in this forum, (from what I can tell thus far, anyway) who are really adept at Portraiture.

I am in awe of them... and of your portraits in particular.

Please do keep them coming, but if you decide that it's time to branch out and try something new or different for yourself; I hope you share that, too!

I know what kinds of shots I am most comfy and have the most success with, but I'm always looking to try something new to keep things fresh, yanno?

This portrait you've shared is another good one... but I agree that the shoulder blade looks to be in a very awkward position.

I was talking to my friend the other day, who wants me to try my hand at glamour shots for her to give her fiancee'. We were discussing the location(s) and poses she had in mind... and I explained to her that some of the things I'm going to ask her to do, may feel unusually "odd" but will translate better in the photograph.

Since this is definitely your area of expertise: are there some poses you could suggest trying that might present as lovely glamour shots but not necessarily make her look too much slimmer?? She and her fiancee' celebrate the "curvy woman" and I know that many of the positions shown in glamour shots tend to focus on making her look a few pounds slimmer.

You have my thanks in advance and my admiration for your work... always. :)

Thanks Tilde. Are you asking how to pose a larger person in a more flattering way but not to make them look too slim?

Yes... in a flattering, feminine way... without a particularly slimming effect.
I have a few ideas I'm going to try... but I'm curious as to what you, specifically, might suggest.

With a larger person, you always want to get them at an angle and shoot above them. Are you looking at full body or head shots? I posted a few examples of a larger girl I recently shot. She wasnted mostly headshots so I don't have too many full body ones to show.

Oh Val! You did a wonderful job with that girl.
The portraits are very flattering. I esp like #1 ans #2.
Bet her parents were thrilled!

These are definitely very nice. I knew to shoot above and at an angle already, too. What I'll be doing with her are more boudoir than glamour but a little of both.

She wants tasteful-but-sexy... in costume.
She has small limbs, and is shaped kinda like an apple with arms and legs. The outfits she's chosen will accentuate her shape even more (because he likes it!).

Many of the kinds of shots I have in mind are typical ie: laying down with legs up against the headboard, posing with leg on a chair in the window... pulling up stockings, etc.

Some will be semi-nude and those I plan to do laying sideways with a little sheet draping... that kind of thing.

Thanks for your help. I'll think of something....

Well, your portrait stuff is great - maybe
1) Something that really worked, and how you did it . . .

2) Something that didn't work, or you can't figure out . . . maybe someone can offer help / a solution . .

Thanks. Her grandmother was very happy. # 3 was straight out of the camera without any editing.

The big earring for one was a big distraction but she wanted them and wanted them to show! So since that was her request, she got it!
