Honest opinion is that the composition in # 3 is pretty good but all suffer from clutteritis.

Hi jthomas, I have to, you are totally right, very cluttered. Its a learning curve, sometimes you see something that the camera does not, or should that be, the camera see's what the person doe's not. :? Thanks for your honest and valued opinion  pip

Here's one with some Lightroom adjustments to show what can be done. The exposure suggestions above would move you in this direction sans the vignette.

There might be some interesting crop opportunities as well. Since only the thumbnail is posted significat cropping would drop the resolutiion too much to fairly illustrate.

Let us know if you like it better or not.

Hi MtnMan, yes that is a vast improvement. I also got some help from Erv who did some post work. I was making my way to take pics of the monument at the top of the hill #3 and the sunlight through the wooded area was lovely, so I took photo's on my way up. I will go back again at some point and try your suggestions taking several shots with different settings. One of our members has suggested that the pics are cluttered, and looking at them, I would tend to agree. I cant do post work on pics as I have no software to do so. :( Thanks greatfully for your help, and I will post photo's again if they turn out ok cheers  pip

Hi Pip. You are doing fine! That is how to learn. Even if you don't get good shots, post them and let us help you. Everyone has to learn and grow. And it will be a faster learning curve with the folks here helping. I see folks using a lot of programs on the net that are free. I am sure if you asked this question in the main photo forum you will get some good ideas about trying a few.
