I have been watching these birds fly by a few at a time for a couple of weeks. I tried to take a photo of one just for ID but they were so fast I could never get one in focus. I recently visited the wetlands to practice my BIF shots and discovered they were all over the area. Since they were circling in and out of the area, not straight toward the south and then gone, I knew this was the best chance to catch one. I managed to get a few...see shots #1 - #4. Then I noticed they were gatering in huge swarms just above the trees south of me. I was amazed to see a huge swarm fly into and around a small tree, like a swarm of bees. It was hard to believe so many birds could fly so close together. Then they would suddenly burst into flight, circle around and go back to the same little tree and do it all over again. This all happened in less than a minute. See shots #5 - #8.

Sorry about the long narrative but I hope you find this as interesting as I did. Photo quality not very good, I had to shoot directly into the sun, but maybe good enough for you to enjoy.

You were able to get some amazing in-flight shots of those individuals. The only birds I've seen that many of at one time are starlings, so I can appreciate your enthusiasm. Your photos and narrative were a treat!

Good for you to track these down. I am thinking there had to be quite a sound coming from those bushes, all of them twittering together!
