not really sure when it started, back in the day when people would go from house to house, the host or hostess would extend a drink from their bottle and the person accepting would extend the same to them, the first foot after the bells at midnight should be a dark headed male, when entering he puts the silver coin on the mantle, a piece of coal in the fireplace and then toasts the host and hostess, the coin is for wealth, the coal for warmth and the toast is for good health all through the year. Mum wouldn't let my sister or myself in one year as we had red hair (unlucky) had to get the neighbour up the street to come down and go in first

WInter fun means different things to different folks: outdoor sports, a time to organize and clean out "stuff", a time for games, long naps, snow, rain, escaping to warm climes. Here is some of my winter fun and I can't wait to see yours.

Many interesting things to observe right here on our property and things I like to do. We also like to hike in the winter as well as the rest of the year. Lots to do if you are open to exploring! So i'll include a few activities we engage in but there are many more......

You gals should try "Cuddle duds". Come in white, beige or black. Great layering. They are slick, so pants slide right over.

oh no - i hate high winds - i don't have long undies - they always seem to make me colder so I wear pajamas under my pants - lol
