They are also as well trained in bodyguard protection as the US Secret Service. You have to be a very elite Swiss solider to get Vatican duty. Just like the Guards at Buckingham palace, or the US Soldiers of the "Old Guard" regiment in DC

You are correct. It is considered a great honor to wear that uniform and the Swiss Guard are well respected.
However we all know that tschmath takes any opportunity to ridicule religion. He was just doing another of his "funny" pokes at something he doesn't understand or approve of.

I was involved in a war game during my time in the USMC and met some Swiss Guard. I have a great deal of respect for these guys and do not find it "funny" to ridicule them. Like our guys they put their lives on the line to protect their country and families. All warriors deserve respect.
While I am not referred to as a religious person, I also find no humor it tschmaths unrelenting harrassment of the members of this forum who are religious. The traditions of a 2000 year old church deserve respect even if you don't believe.
I would love to see tschmath go to a mosque and ridicule their uniforms. Would that be funny also? In our contry today he would most likely be arrested and jailed for being so "funny".
