In camera crop. Can't get the eyes like Fstop22 captures on Jumpers.

Nikon D300 at ISO 500, with 105G at MFD, 1/60-sec at f/22, with SB-400 diffused & off-camera on a Stroboframe adapted bracket.

I have yet to get a good photo of an orb weaver. Jumpers have a lot bigger eyes and much easier to photograph then these suckers

D300 with 105g @ 1:1 for original image.
ISO 500 f/22 @ 1/60 sec with SB 400 diffused & off-camera on a Stroboframe adapted bracket

Very credible results! Orbweaver eyes are very small.

Nice DIY illumination design, but your snout could use a little Viagra!

Very nice. Do you have an uncropped version that shows the whole cross on his back? If so, would you post please? Looks like a great shot.

This is another crop that shows the cross. This was taken with a 105g macro lens @ 1:1 @ f/22 and 1/60 shutter duration. Diffused SB 400 with the "ghetto blaster". For details see in the macro set-up talk.

This was/is one of two trying to live through the winter on my front porch. It's been in the low 30's here in Portland. We woke up to a gray (and liquid) Christmas.

Happy holidays to all-- and may you find your critters in 2013!

Thanks so much for posting. Beautiful markings. Lucky to have them boarding on your front porch! I'm ready for Spring... 4" of snow today. Will be awhile before I can capture my own spiders, I'm afraid.
