When can I see the International Space Station (ISS)? That is a common question for many beginning stargazers who wish to see man's only outpost in space. Unfortunately, in today's fast-paced world, one may not have time to hunt around for such information on the Internet. To remedy this problem, NASA has just announced a new program: Spot the Station.

One can also use Heavens-Above. They have a dedicated slot just for the ISS and it is complete with a map of the sky showing the path as it crosses the sky. Heavens-Above also has full details of visibility on hundreds of satellites complete with maps etc. You will need to register and then put in your longitude and latitude along with your elevation. These figures can be obtained with either a GPS device or by using Google Earth and simply plotting your location on the map.
