that'd have me pissed off too....but think of the people that bought one on Dec 13th, 24 hours before sale!

I uh...never mind from the topic I thought this was about something entirely different. Depending where you bought it some retailers will refund the difference in a given amount of time after purchase.

This must be Nikons approach to customer service.

Amazing.

You could probably buy this and sell it on eBay for more. :D

I feel your pain.
Bought new camera, Fuji X-Pro 1, when original prices dropped $300.00. Felt pretty good about that.
It's in the mail when Fuji announces a new smaller lighter version (XE-1), same sensor, same IQ for another $600.00 less.
Last week the X-Pro price went down another $300.00.
$600.00 could buy me a another nice lens.
Dang.

If only my crystal ball hadn't been sent in to remove the dust spots.

Return yours! I bought one last week for 1999.99, and called Best Buy today. They gave me that lens for free!!!

If ? + ? is B & H, see this:

just return it and buy it again at the discounted price! And if you do not want to deal with returns, give B&H customer service a call tomorrow morning. Tell them to give you the difference back – I am sure they will do it. Otherwise, you have 60 days to return your gear and buy it again at the new price!

Hope that puts a smile on your face.

don't look at the ads. you will always be saying i got screwed. You bought it, for what you thought was a good price and you like the camera. How will you feel in a year or so when it sells for 500-600

Just enjoy it.

I recently purchased a body from B&H and then noticed that a couple of weeks after that the priced dropped so I took a chance and called B&H customer service and they refunded me the difference. Never hurts to ask. I always use B&H and recommend they to anyone that asks.

I agree in large measure, (unless the provider allows the discount to be applied post-facto in which case have your cake and eat it.)

The truth is there will always be sales and discounts, and I will not always buy at the best time with respect to price. But if I refused to buy until the best time, I would never buy, (and there goes the D800 I bought in March 2012, and have enjoyed so much.)

When it comes to purchasing kit, look forward to what you will use the kit for, not backward to the extra $$$ you did not save.
