After our final meal on the Viking Sky, it was time to disembark and start the next part of our journey around and through Europe. We were one of the last groups to disembark and took a coach ride to the Venice Marco Polo Airport, about an hour-long ride of about 35 miles. Many people were flying home and had very early departures. However, we booked a two night extension in Venice which resulted in a relaxing morning for the transfer to our hotel. We walked a couple of blocks from the airport parking lot to the dock for a boat ride of about 45 minutes to The JW Marriott for the next two nights.
The Hands Sculpture, photo 8: Italian artist Lorenzo Quinn is back with another large-scale hand sculpture. On Friday, May 10, 2019 Quinn unveiled Building Bridges, an installation consisting of six pairs of hands arching 50 feet over a waterway at the Arsenale former shipyard in Venice’s eastern Castello District. Made from white resin to mimic the white marble seen around Venice, the hands symbolize the need to build bridges and overcome differences. Each pair is clasped in a different way to highlight six values, including friendship, hope, love, help, faith, and wisdom. The new sculptures were unveiled at a ceremony with a performance by Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli.

Thank you Mike, I appreciate it.
Another great set Dennis!
An enjoyable tour and helpful maps to round out the text. Wish a closer view of the six pair of hands had been secured but I know, ya gets what ya gets! Oh, the first shot was special for the variety of clouds, by the way.
