Hello everyone, I have an old Yashica FX-2 35mm film camera that still works but needs servicing (cleaning, lube, etc...). Would anyone happen to know of a facility that still works on these old film cameras? I know that the service and or repairs will cost way more than the camera's value; however, this was my first film camera and of course it has some sentimental value. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

IIRC, the shutter is electronicaly timed. What symptoms suggest need of CLA ? Theres no reason for CLA if theres no problems.

The Yashica FX-2 has a fully mechanical shutter. I do agree if it has no problem it doesn't need CLA. The meter is probably not accurate even when new but that what it is. It does require the mercury battery for the meter.

Okay, thanks for the advice. I use a sekonic light meter anyway so I wouldn't use the in camera meter. Okay, well I will clean the ole girl up myself and stick a roll of film in a see what I get.

Very basic device. Chances are excellent that all will go well.

Before you experiment on repairing a gem of a camera, send an e-mail to RJRiggins11. He has repaired my Canon 5D
