Raw is raw...sony nikon canon etc...
Picture profiles are for jpegs.

Useless isolated semi-facts. Typical.

Sorry, not always. If you process Canon raw files in Canon’s raw converter, DPP, the various settings do effect the converted image.

True. And a mini version of DPP is actually built into some Canon cameras. Nikon and both m4/3 are similar. There may be others. Users of those brands can process raw data without using a PC. Features vary by brand.

You converted it...and missed the entire point.

No...just the simple truth without deflections and side bars.

All raw images by all the major corps mean...unprocessed files.

I have far more important things to do with my life than count and discuss minutia.

Raw is raw...for all the camera companies.

I believe maybe you missed my point. You said: “ Raw is raw…Picture profiles are for jpegs.” Implying they are not relevant to raw. My point was that in some cases (I mentioned Canon), that if you use the appropriate SW (DPP), picture profiles are NOT only for JPEGs, they apply to the raw image as well when it’s converted as the information is included in the raw file. And if you shoot raw, then of course you will convert them to some image file for it to be useful.

Apparently you have nothing better to do ... than snipe at useful advice by muddying the water with rhetorical minutia. Typical.
