I usually look at sender's email address and if it doesn't look right, I'll delete it and forward it.

I am eager to create a new invention. It will consist of a small red button on everyone’s keyboard. When a suspicious email or advertising pop-up appears, the recipient presses the red button. The sender receives a magnetic pulse. The sender’s motherboard is fried and rendered totally useless. This would be an interesting fate. I hope it might catch on!
