In those days, DeSotos were essentially lower end Chrysler bodies on the frame shared by Plymouth and Dodge. Having the lighter frame enabled a better horsepower to weight ratio, but created other problems.s.
Virgil Exner at his best during those years!!! However these cars were real "rust buckets" if you lived in the Northeast as I did during those years and not many survive.
