There were two wolves on a distant hill, and one approached to within 140 yards of me when he was entering a stand of willows. There was apparently an elk carcass hidden in the willows. The second wolf eventually disappeared over the hillside due to traffic and human commotions. There is no way to explain some people's behavior. If you look closely, you can see the wolf's coat is in poor condition. Apparently this wolf, and very likely the rest of the pack have mange. I believe these wolves are from Eight Mile Pack, but I could be wrong. I hope you enjoy.

A great encounter! It is always a thrill to see them, but I hate that they have mange. I wonder if that had anything to do with why they were darting them, probably not. I also did not understand keeping all the pull outs blocked for days after they were all goneā€¦..
