I was once again trying to find Snow Geese. I did but they were well inside private property(2000 yards)I had no permission to use.
However, eagles and many Northern Harriers were out in force after being snowed in yesterday morning.
Cold northerly winds and sunny skies prevailed today!

1. These two had a Canada Goose down but after nearly 30 minutes of waiting for a scuffle or anything, I moved on.

2. Possible prey but such good camouflage!

5. Happy to keep a focus on this one as it went behind this tree!

6. Their favorite way to hunt!

7. Just before a dive, lost it behind the bramble....

8. Seemingly nervous small/young GBH even though it was too much trouble for an eagle let alone a hawk??

9. Getting that high angle view right above the GBH.

I have a non-photo question. Where do all the birds go during a bad storm?

Thanks Chief! I was actually disappointed with the eagles with the goose.... I'm not sure why but didn't have hardly a keeper, I posted the least objectionable one...
I was thrilled to get into so many Harriers though!

I believe they stay in their nests. Eggs or newly hatched little ones would need that protection from the heavy snows.
Smaller ones will find cover(big stands of blackberrys and thick brush) and stay protected as they ride it out.
I added a picture of an eagle fortress that's nearly 10 feet deep/tall.
Rob
Massive nest just a mile from where I was shooting yesterday.
