So nice you could see the funny side of it.

I've had to resist laughing at certain funerals, although others weren't able to.

Sort of. Funerals are tense situations, and people sometimes laugh inappropriately.

Funny story. Jack Benny and George Burns, long-time friends, were on a receiving line to greet Queen Elizabeth. As they got close to the queen, George turned to Jack and said, "Whatever you do, don't laugh when you meet the queen."

That kind of "don't" caution is probably a surefire way to get some people laughing inappropriately.

………..Any of you have experience with and advice buying recliners, especially online?

When my father was alive, we went to a surgical supply store and found a chair that they had in stock. With an attached remote control it would raise the chair to a vertical position. When the button was pressed it would lower the chair so that the individual was seated. I don’t remember the brand but can tell you that a good model is not on a budget one. I do wish I had the model name.

Wife and I wish we had seen chairs with the battery back-up. We got caught at night in full recline when the power went out unexpectedly. Two old folks doing gymnastics in the dark was not fun. Luckily there were no injuries.

That does not sound like fun. Your lucky there were no injuries.

"Gymnastics"? Is that a euphemism? 😂

No injuries, much squirming on my part. I finally just tipped the entire chair forward and let it dump me on the floor. Could not perform the same with the wife; had to roll her off the side over the arm rest.

If it had been me and the misses we would have fallen asleep in the chairs. The dog would climb on our lap and just hang out.
