Since moving to Idaho Falls I have wanted to photograph this temple from the front. I have posted a few photos across the Snake River toward the back but not any from the front I can recall. While driving past a couple of days ago I noticed the lighting was perfect for a high key photograph, I think that is what it is called, where the color of the sky closely matched the color of the temple. I went home to get my Sony RX10IV and tripod and came back. I only live about six blocks from the temple so it isn't as if photo opportunities do not present themselves often.

While taking photos of the temple I noticed a man and his wife walking toward one of the entrances. I greeted them and asked if they would please be in one of my photos for the human interest part. They said they would love to do that. Yes I have sent them photos for their kindness.

I hope you enjoy these photos. Comments for and against are welcome.

Nice views of the Temple. Don't forget to stop at Carstens Bakery next to the Vogue Beauty College on Cliff St and Shoup Ave. I would get my pastry fix while waiting to get my hair cut next door.

Thank you very much alberio for stopping by to take a look.

While I live just a few blocks from the downtown area I seldom go there unless it is to the courthouse, my insurance agent or a fly fishing shop. But I did look up Carsten's Bakery and I see they, of course, sell doughnuts. I have never met a doughnut I wouldn't eat. I may have to stop by to take a look. Thanks in advance for the extra pounds.

You might tell them you were referred by a customer from 2016 and 2017.

I will be happy to do that if I get there. I am sure they will know exactly who I am talking about.

Thanks Mike. I see it all the time but have generally only photographed the back or Snake River side. It was time to give the front some attention.

Adding people creates a much more relatable photograph. Their posing adds a touch of friendship.
The empty temple is an architectural study, less memorable. But interesting.

Thank you Boris77. I am glad you stopped by.
I agree completely with your comment. Two different types of photos.
