Europe 2023 Spring - Photo Preview 4 - Switzerland: Countryside in Spring - Zugerberg +
This set brings you an extensive view of a relaxing, "pastoral" corner in the very center of Switzerland. The canton of Zug was one of the earliest cantons to join in 1352 the Swiss confederation which was originally founded in 1291. The canton Zug is rather small in size, but a giant as a location for the headquarters of international companies in Switzerland. Zug is located on the shore of Lake Zug and has at its back an attractive hilly landscape culminating in the "Zugerberg", which, besides being mainly agricultural/pastural lands, also functions as a recreational area for the inhabitants of Zug and much of the surrounding area.
Even though I visit my native Switzerland very frequently, several times practically every year (except in those dark early Covid-years), I have to admit that this was the first time I visited the "Zugerberg" and the visit was mainly due to the desire of our son's family to do a nice day-hike (well, rather a good stroll) with our small grand daughter in this area, and the route was enhanced by a series of "hidden treasure" locations to be found by the child. We had a wonderful walk, and a nice lunch at a restaurant in the area, and the area provided a perfect backdrop for some rural photography.
The Zugerberg area accounts for the first 7 pictures, the last 3 were taken in close proximity to the town of Lenzburg where our son's family resides.
