No dog licking face for me. Among other reasons, I can't get past what he may have just finished licking before he starts on someone's face.

There is another myth regarding letting dogs lick open injuries as their saliva has healing components. WRONG! Their saliva in fact has 100's of times more foreign to your own biome microbes that can and do do serious harm. If you have survived this treatment as I have it reflects on your immune system being strong at the time but that isn't always the case.

I used to hear the same thing about soaking a cut in sea water. We lived near beaches.
