For those of you who put up a Christmas tree, when do you take it down? I'd like to get my living room back. I know that some people keep it up till January 6, Little Christmas.

The correct time to take down Christmas tree and decorations is the evening of January 5th, otherwise known as 12th night.

Not until after Three Kings Day (Jan 6). And I'm never in a hurry!🙂

I have been known to take it down in April.
It needs a lot of needle cleanup by that time.
I switched to an artificial tree a while back and the tree gets back to storage when I get a round tuit.
My living room is large enough that the tree is not in the way.

Tree is decorated on the night of the solstice...lit on Christmas eve...and stays lit for 12 days.

Same with outdoor lights...
Yule log is lit after decorations are done on solstice...it all comes together.

I had a friend who always got a balled tree for Christmas.
It stayed in his house until he could plant it on his property in the Spring.
First time I saw a Valentine's Day tree.......

No special time, just depends on what we’re doing. It will likely be this weekend.

Might I suggest you "plant" the cut tree in your backyard at this time of the year. It really helps the birds with more protection and for us an opportunity to photograph these beautiful flyers and they add an uplifting song sometimes as well.
In warmer weather we cut it down to sizes that our city recycling can turn into mulch.

My wife always has us take down things January 1. This year and forever don’t have to take down the permanent lighting around the trim of the house. I still need to take down nativity and other Christmas decorations on the shelves in the living room.

Never knew 'til just now that the "12 Days of Christmas" had anything to do with how long the tree stayed up & decorated. Never really had a plan. I remember one that was up until March. This year's is particularly perfect in shape and height, not in the way, adds to the decor; might be there awhile, no rush.
