Hey, John.
Mike ( UTmike ) told me about this sub-forum and suggested that folks over here might be more tuned in to my rust work. I didn't know Digital Artistry existed. Mike is probably right. That rust stuff I do doesn't appeal to everyone, it's just not their bag. Any new rust work I do, I'm going to post it in both locations/ However, I expect this crowd will be more receptive.

I discovered a long time ago that rusty surfaces have a hidden story to tell. It's a little amazing to me to discover the colors that can be extracted from rust. Most of these images were derived from surfaces completely covered by rust.
These are incredible works of art! Thanks for exploring the process. I'm wondering if each piece is derived from it's individual piece of rust or if they all came from the same piece of rust with different settings. Did I explain that clearly? You will go far with these results!!!

you took something fairly ordinary and made really appealing abstracts that are alive with colors. Nice.

Thank you very much for your comments.
Each of these shots were derived from completely different rusty surfaces. My targets ( as I call the rusty surfaces I start with ) come mostly from rusted-out cars and farm equipment, along with other rusty objects I run across in junk yards.
I never start with a preconceived final image in mind. Each rusty object seems to have its own story to tell. I begin to work with my target and when I'm happy with the results that I see, I stop.

Thanks, Erich. I appreciate you commenting.
I'm a bit of a color freak and when I discovered the colors I could extract from rusty things.....well, I was excited about the opportunities I had to do something original and rewarding.
