I discovered a long time ago that rusty surfaces have a hidden story to tell. It's a little amazing to me to discover the colors that can be extracted from rust. Most of these images were derived from surfaces completely covered by rust.

Excellent abstracts... they fall in the class of "Sensation" vs hidden subject art, altho, an astronomer's may see connections with their work.

What did you use to go from rust to these brilliant colored masterpieces?

Fascinating!

May I post them to our texture library for others to use? See https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-630884-1.html

And, if you get a chance, as dpullum mentioned, please let us know how you achieved these results so we can try next time we encounter rust

I sure appreciate the visit.

The program I work with is a Microsoft production called Digital Image. It was first released in 2006, but support was discontinued a couple of years ago. It has some very unique capabilities.

Hi, Linda.

As I divulged to dpullum, I do all of my rust work using a discontinued Microsoft program named Digital Image. A friend, who is brilliant with computers, alerted me to some hidden capabilities he had discovered within the program. Using that info, i developed my rust program.

Fell free to post my pictures to the texture library. However, and I apologize I prefer to keep my process maneuvering private at this time. I enjoy quite a nice reception in private sales of my images and I prefer not to create any competition.

Holy Moly !! I didn't realize that there were two " sieve minded " people on this sub-forum. It's nice to have the company. I will return on occasion. Thank you.
