On December 29, 2008, J. was working on our back porch when this "frowsy" young gray cat ran up her arm and nuzzled her and wouldn't willingly get down. She passed away on early in the morning of September 24 of this year in bed between us. She is still "with us".

Wow that is a long time for you and your wife to be blessed with her companionship!--and Blossom certainly chose her people well. I imagine she'll always be with you. When I was quite young, shortly after I had moved to New Mexico and was trying out new areas for trail running, I had just let my two dogs out of my truck--a pit bull and a greyhound--when I heard a frantic squalling and a kitten emerged from the brush and ran between my dogs, up my leg, and onto my shoulder, purring wildly. I skipped the run and started a new relationship (the dogs got over it.)
