Thanks I was considering one but not now.

I also use BBF on my Z7 and have never had a problem moving the focus point accidentally using the toggle button. The problem I’ve had, and most people I know have had with a moving focus point is the nose touching the touchscreen when looking through the viewfinder. And it’s not specific to Nikon. It happens with any camera with a touchscreen. As a wildlife photographer I wouldn’t want my focus point locked. I want to use the toggle to move it. Dead center is rarely where I want to focus.

It’s not possible to delete a thread. You can’t even delete a comment. But I’m glad to see he took the time to come back and post this, since many people don’t read the entire thread.

He would say the post was not sent to you and you have no business answering for the OP. What a guy!.

Can you lock the focal point? That is the question.

I’ve found no need to. As long as the touch screen is disabled it’s not that easy to accidentally move it. If it was locked I wouldn’t be able to move it when I want to. Seems to me a stupid way to shoot.

Even after the explanations that {eventually} tumbled out? That you can disable the touchpad so your nose won’t be problem?

If I understand correctly, the question wasn’t in locking the focal point but in disabling the touchpad so it can’t move the focal point.

I called 1-800-645-6687 for Nikon custom support and they were very nice and worked with me for forty five minutes trying to find an answer at no charge and there isn't one for locking the focus point on my Nikon Z6ii camera. There is also no way to disable the toggle switch. There is several options that the center button of the toggle switch can be programed to do but lock the focus point is not one of the options. It would be great if they would add this choice to the menu in the next software update. I am posting this in a new post so everyone will get a chance to read it since nobody seems to read additional posts in my original thread. Thank everyone for trying to help me!

Shows how sneaky and convincing spoof sites can be. Maybe ask admin to put in an update on this so we can can be forewarned about this and the update at the top of the post. I’d it happened to you it’s happened to others.

Oh no it's not.
Focal Point : 'the point at which rays or waves meet after reflection or refraction, or the point from which diverging rays or waves appear to proceed'.
