On our fall colors tour we stopped and checked out the train again. The weather did not hold out and at the end I got a bit wet....
While we were waiting for a train to leave we were talking with one of the guys who drives the little follow cart and it started really raining so he let us step into the old Depot and this phone was on the wall. The building is just a storage building now, but had some old photos and furniture stacked up. Sort of interesting to see what was just left behind.
The people in the open cars are going to be cold and wet!

This is the little car that follows each train up and back to make sure there are not any issues

No, it does not work!!! It has been replaced with cell phones and radios in the follow cars as there is no internet along most of the route.

That is a fantastic series. I love the motor car that follows the train. We take a motorcar ride once a year at the Boone and Scenic Railroad here in Iowa.
The scenery would be gorgeous in the sun.
Wonderful as always, Beth.
Very nice set that brings back good memories, Beth!

What gorgeous country!!! Beautiful pictures
Nice set! I rode that train back in the 80s. A few miles out of Durango our steam powered train ran out of water. We were stuck on the tracks for 2-3 hours until a firetruck arrived and pumped water from the conveniently placed canal. I rode the bus back to Durango.
