I wonder if that would have helped my Dad and Brother. Once, after my Mother had called an ‘all hands’ reunion up in Michigan, they went sailing; they returned towing the sailboat. Eventually, they admitted that they quite a time if it, as they had capsized at the deepest part of the lake. {I don’t remember that lake’s statistics; it was 5’ or under about a mile out from the cottage we had rented, but very deep at ‘Deep Water Point’; ‘Torch Lake’ had a sign “Where the rainbow stores it’s colors”}

On my Honeymoon (ages ago!), I rented a sailfish. Going out to sea in the Bahamas was fun. Trying to return without knowing how to tack was the problem. We had to yell SOS to a passing group after capsizing repeatedly, and drifting towards rocks! They brought a boat to tow us back. Quite embarrassing, but my admiration for sailboats and sailing has grown!
