I asked a question about taking people without clothes on but no one seem to understand
I have been to exhibitions of naked photos and they were beautiful. I do not interested in sexy photos
just the human body.
My question was how to advertise this ?

1. YOU DON'T. Anyone who reads "NUDE MODEL WANTED...NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY" will label you a creep, or worse.
2.You want to photograph naked people? OK, first establish yourself as a professional photographer. NO BS, no come on lines. Actual work photographing PEOPLE. When you have a few years of established work photographing people, and can show examples of printed work and test work...then, maybe, you will convince someone to pose for you.
3. Maybe you can convince a friend, a friend of a friend....or someone who just gets off on taking their clothes off for strangers to pose for you. Just be careful you don't come across as a serial killer or rapist since cameras are never allowed in a prison.

As we did, when I was learning, we hired péripatéticienes...

First, you need samples to prove to prospective subjects that you are worth their time and not just blowing smoke. To get that, you need to hire models who know how to pose for nude work. Do it well and you'll have models asking you for the work.

Don't know about the artist tag, but my tag for you certainly starts with an "A."

Shows how little you understand.

In the 70s, the least expensive and willing models for nudes were prostitutes (péripatéticienes). It gave them a break from their daily 'fares' and were paid more with no risk for them. Sure, for hypocrites and prudish folks like in the US that is a sin to even mention that, but it was (is?) still a reality. And 'No' for the readers who think sex was involved. Get your filthy minds out of the gutter.

As to be an ass*ole... Well, mentioning the truth is never comfortable but then again, why sugar coat it?

Why do you ask? This is really not the forum for art. Most posters here are for semi-salacious photos. There are better fora to request your artistic appreciation. (excuse the Latin... most here will not get it.)

Are you willing to pay a fee? I would think an art studio or the art department at a convenient university would be a viable resource for connecting with models who would do nude work.

"question about taking people without clothes on but no one seem to understand "
Ellen101 perhaps you're unable to communicate effectively with those in the "Fine Art Genre"

"My question was how to advertise this?"

Ellen101 lensmaster eloquently provided a very precise and unambiguous answered your query...

Ellen101 my question to you is why are you fixated this? What are the true promptings that come from within?
Sadly far too many gentlemen photographers pursue this genre in order to garner a sense of merit and worth from their male colleagues... i.e. Look at me, I'm soooo cool that these ladies take their cloths of for me...
The second reason? There is money in Pornography... Lots more money in Child Pornography so that is an end game for other lower forms entering into this fray...

As for a suggestion about Model Mayhem as an appropriate venue?
Please read this infamous case and others that resulted in Mayhem disallowing 16 year olds from obtaining MM profiles. https://www.courthousenews.com/model-mayhem-woman-has-a-case-after-rape/
During this era there was a mass exodus by Agency Models from Mayhem (likely as a result of promptings from their Agency Agents)

Ellen101 after reading your rather audacious post "I need money", I'm having some doubts about your communicational skills. https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-491063-1.html

"I am trying to emulate National Geographic photography without having to travel far.
Any suggestions for person on a fixed income living in Tampa Bay, Florida?"

Ellen there is a timeless adage "He (or she) who mentions money first loses"

Ellen I've tried very tactfully to share with you that lensmaster has by far and away provided the most appropriate answer to a query of this nature... please focus on the wisdom lensmaster has shared with you...

I will add that "when your work is your play and your play is your work you have arrived" anonymous
There is a Japanese motto "Focus on your single purpose"

Ellen UHH has a Forum devoted to People https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/s-101-1.html
I would suggest you start posting your portraiture here in as you will find knowledgeable folks who will likely help you if you ask "tactfully". As lensmaster wisely stated, once you have a considerable body of work which is at a commercial level then queries will come... From the Field of Dreams “If you build it, they will come.

Wishing you much hope and success on your photographic journey Ellen...
Patience grasshopper "all is coming"

First, I need to gain your attention, so I will offer a positive answer to your question. You are in New York City. This shows that you are completely clueless. In the rather large area called Manhattan you are looking for a nefarious individual named Stan Goldstein. Stan hosts group shoots with hired models that groups of men can make images of nude women. That will get you started on what you are looking to do, which is to enter into the world of nude photography of women.

That will give you the "in" you seek. Listing to (reading) the posts offered to you on this rather silly site will give you nothing but falls trails and dead ends. Why? It is filled with males who have no clue as to what this world is like (nude women photography) and that the world of American society as a place where women resided is radically changing.

What is my background? I have an MFA from the University of Texas at San Antonio (MFA stands for Master of Fine Arts, it is a university degree equivalent to a PhD). I chaired the Department of Photography at the Southwest Craft Center that later became the Southwest School of Art (now under the University of Texas at San Antonio.

As chair of photography I introduced a studio class in figure photography during my second year as chair, it was well received. The time was a goodtime for such a change. Much has changed in the area of nude photography of women, mainly because American women are fed up with all the idiocy of the male dominated social structure that exists in our country. Women no longer want to change the climate, they are somply by passing the traditional silliness that men create in society. You will find the operative notion based in the 60's notion of that eras revolt, that is, "You are either part of the problem, or part of the solution".

To get an instant education of the change that is happing just pay your entrance fee and go visit any strip club in NY or any other city, they are all the same, the old notions are there. Seminude women fleasing men of their money, so the men can get a look at nude women. But what you need to get clearly in your mind is to look at the pathetic atmosphere of the environment, that is why you are there, and it isn't the women, it is the men there that are pathetic. That is why your preposed approach won't work. It is true old school and it is dying out. There are women who are making a great living being nude with men, it is called internet modeling, but while Model Mayhem 'thing' is the transition from strip clubs to nude internet modeling, that location is about the male fantasy and it is pretty close to dead as well.

Like I put at the top, you can learn some basics by doing the 'camera club' style approach with an antique like Stan in New York, but it too is a dead end street.

To understand the history and how nude modeling has changed you would need a guide and that is not easy. Most of what is out there is so pathetic that you will only end up falling down the rabbit hole of useless information. Your best bet us to inly listen to modern women and what they have to say and ignore what the boys will tell you. Women are your best bet. Some of these women that are still out there doing the nude model thing are Liz Ashly, MOSH and London Andrews. You can find MOSH and London Andrews in the East Coast area and Liz travels there all the time. These women are no BS and they know the score. They were there as nude models back when Model Mayhem started, and they know all the details. They can hook you up with loads of nude models and they can even become candid and fill you in as to "Who if Fool and who is kool!" Hire one of these women models, tell them Tim Summa sent you and tell them you need advice and pay there fee and ask them for just a session on getting information on what to do to do work. You will get their attention and respect. You can promise that you will hire them another time to model but you really need to know how to do this correctly. Yes, they all three know me quire well and we have had long talks about the subject of nude modeling.

Based on her question, she might do best posting here - -
