Check with a silver refinery, most took old photos, slides and x-rays!
Not sure on transperases. Could be some money in it depending on silver prices. Just google film and photo silver refinery.
Still need to deal with HIPPA for clinical slides

Run them through a chipper shredder, then soak the remains in sulphuric acid, then neutralize those remains with some sort of base, then dynamite whats left. Would that work?
C-4 instead of dynamite. It's safer to use and in a pinch you can use it to heat you morning coffee.

I have many clinical slides which I no longer need.
One of the items not allowed by Shredding stores are Transparencies.
Is there an efficient way of destroying them?
Thanks, David
Go to Walmart or Target or Staples or Office Depot or any store that sells shredders. $50 should get you a decent micro shredder. Mix shredded contents into your stinky garbage if you’re particularly concerned about someone digging through your trash.

Why not just burn them.

Depending on where you live you could.
But stand upwind and hopefully no neighbors.
Burning trash is illegal in many jurisdictions (like anywhere in CA).
Burning trash can cause long-term health problems. The toxic chemicals released during burning include nitrogen oxides, sulfur dioxide, volatile organic chemicals (VOCs) and polycyclic organic matter (POMs). Burning plastic and treated wood also releases heavy metals and toxic chemicals, such as dioxin.
Darn, I spent many an hour as a child burning our trash in the backyard. The only chore I really enjoyed.
