You can see some the 50’s Nash styling elements in that example.

I'll put you into the positive group because you didn't say anything negative about it's looks. It's a neck and neck field now.

Thanks for the picture of a unicorn. Interesting information from others also.

Thanks for chiming in. The naysayers lead again.

Cool looking car Tom and I'll bet it was a real head-turner at the time. Reminds me of a hunchbacked Corvette. What type of show was it at, the cars around it don't look very conventional either. Bet it took a while to get 3 different views of the car with nobody standing in front of it (or maybe they knew your avatar and just stayed clear).

Good to hear from you, Reuss. The term " hunchbacked " can only be construed one way. The negative group is engaged in a real stomping. There was a small grouping of one-off cars at this show. You have touched on the plight of any major car show shooter: hoards of people. Nothing I can do about it. I have considered, though, of starting to carry an electric cattle prod with me.

Check out my post on British Car Show. It's posted on the same day as this one. Somewhere in my responses is my process for taking and processing images at car shows, etc.. It's more work processing than shooting.

Very unique design! The front bumper looks like it may be able to push an old guy with a walker out of the cross walk.

HEY! Don’t give anyone any ideas!! 🫤🥸🥺

Thanks for dropping by. Since it's a one-off car, very few people ever heard of it.

Hey, Reuss. I saw your great posting on the British stuff. I meant to comment on it but, obviously, I forgot to. My comment was to address your practice of eliminating distractions around your targets. When you're shooting one of these world-class shows with THOUSANDS of folks milling around....well, you're just at the mercy of the circumstance. Countless times, I've really wanted a shot of the entire car with no distractions and couldn't get it. The best I can ever do is to get the shot with no one between myself and the car. Trying to eliminate distractions in PP work, as you do, would put me in the loony bin. I enjoy your work at the shows you get to. Keep the postings coming.

Now that I think more about this polarizing car, it looks more and more like the "Bob Hope Special", could it be one and the same? A few years ago the Bob Hope car was for sale and on the showroom floor of PJ's Classic Cars in Clearwater, FL.

The Bob Hope Special was a Mercury of the same year...1950. It was built by a guy named LLoyd Templeton. There were a number of guys on the west coast doing custom jobs during that time frame and that car got associated with Bob Hope

Hey, Reuss. I saw your great posting on the Britis... (show quote)

One technique I use to clear people out of the way is I bring my dog, a cuddly Border Collie who loves people and loves to be petted. I have my friend hold her off to the side and she draws most of the people away. I've even offered some of the car owners, you pet my dog, I drive your car. But that doesn't work.

This response was meant to be a comment regarding the post showing the 1950 Buick LeSabre concept car however, my memory didn't serve me correctly. Although some of the characteristics of the Bob Hope Special were somewhat similar, that custom was built on a 1950 Mercury as its base.
