Unusual, yes - attractive, well beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Looks like a mash-up between a C-1 Vette and a Nash Healy.

Very interesting machine. The cove treatment is very reminiscent of early 60's Corvettes. Having never achieved anything particularly noteworthy in my own life, I am hesitant to criticize another's work, but having made that disclaimer I think the overall design is too bulky and clunky for a sports car, which I assume is what he was going for. A streamlined brick is still a brick.

Thanks for sharing your insights into the history of the craft and art of auto restyling.

This a one-off car. The designer, Bill Flajole, had a storied career in Detroit. He went to work right out of high school for Chrysler. He also did design work for Ford and GM. Nash borrowed him to help them get back in the mainstream of things. He designed the Nash Metropolitan for them.

You can see some the 50’s Nash styling elements in that example.

Great set, Mamba, to me the car is ugly, IMHO.

Cool looking car Tom and I'll bet it was a real head-turner at the time. Reminds me of a hunchbacked Corvette. What type of show was it at, the cars around it don't look very conventional either. Bet it took a while to get 3 different views of the car with nobody standing in front of it (or maybe they knew your avatar and just stayed clear).

Thanks, Frank.

I don't think I've ever seen such a polarized reaction to a car's looks. Folks seem to either love it or hate it.

I appreciate you looking in. I'll mark you down as part of the naysayer group.

Glad you stopped by. You will also go into the naysayer group. I think that group is leading in the polls.
