In the elite colleges such as Harvard there are more students whose families are in the top1% of the economy than all the students whose families come from below that income combined . This decision does nothing to change this, because legacy admissions was not effected by this decision. Kids from rich white families are the ones who will gain by this decision and their families will continue to stay in power positions in the ruling class.

As I said before, nothing will change. That said, this decision came to the fore because of discrimination against Asian-american students seeking entrance to elite schools.

Easy to say if you believe in the 14th amendment. As you know it was a group of non-w****s who were being discriminated against who brought suit. The failure and fix is in the pulpit K-12 system to properly prepare children of all races to compete and quit telling them that there are insurmountable obstacles that can only be overcome by handouts and admission practices that are r****t in practice.

That is Right, the educated Left get to pay their own debts. It is insane to believe that an expensive education cannot land a job capable of paying off the cost of that education, I think something stinks.

This decision is going to force colleges to get very creative...

to keep doing what they're already doing.

I predict it will change nothing. See if Harvard is 98% Asian-American in 4 years. If not, you can bet they found some new way to cook their admission books.

There is already a big move to ditch standardized testing which will allow colleges to create some new false-meritocracy to let in whoever they want.

As I recall, 55 years ago, getting into Harvard required more than brains. Brains were in plentiful supply, as they are today. Harvard, and the other upper echelon schools, looked for what what made the student special. Today, that's become defined by color. Before it was defined by talent or contributions or certain interests that an individual had that could specifically be developed to contribute to society. Perfect S.A.T.'s still won't guarantee a ticket to the Ivy Leagues if you're as dull as Grandpa's old knife otherwise.

Let me clarify my view here:

In the U.S., active discrimination against black folk has existed in the past, exists today, and will exist in the future. The assumption here implies that the legal system must do something to counter this discrimination because it fosters ine******y among the populace, violating the U.S. Constitution.

We may presume that affirmative action reduces discrimination against black folk. Yet, this approach eng****rs another discrimination, by rendering white folk as the party suffering a legalized discrimination to favor black folk over them.

This outcome violates the doctrine of meritocracy. Wikipedia describes it thus: "Today, the term is often utilised to refer to social systems, in which personal advancement and success are primarily attributed to an individual's capabilities and merits."

This view goes to performance of the individual, not to skin tone, race, g****r, sexuality, wealth, heritage, and so forth.

Yes, this post is about the other political pillar of the libs/democrats though. This decision declares that racial discrimination is absolutely unconstitutional as defined in the 14th Amendment. Affirmative action has always been unconstitutional and finally the court has taken the issue on and slapped it down and done so definitively.

This was only federal government loans and grants not federal guaranteed loans.
This money was already gone years ago. The only impact is loss of repayments ( income ) which would be spread cover years years.
