On Friday I talked my wife into taking a ride to Farmington Bay so I could try out my new Nikon Z8 Camera on moving subjects. All photos were taken through my Nikon 500mm pf f/5.6 Telephoto lens using an FTZ adapter.
The main ponds are closed for visiting but there are still subjects to photograph.

This is the first time I have seen Wood Storks here and also a Black Capped Night Heron.

Enjoy,
Steve

Wonderful set! Luv the BIFs.

A very nice set. Looks like a fine combo.

Thank you, I am happy the 500mm pf works so well with the Z mount camera.

Wonderful set, Steve. The downloads are beautiful. Loved seeing how your setup performed with the FTZ. I guess I can’t use the excuse of having to buy new lenses keeping me from switching to a Nikon mirrorless.

Thanks for your comments. I am happy I can get good shots with the F mount long telephoto lens. The new Z telephotos are a few dollars more than I want to spend now.

Excellent set, Steve! You make the Z8 look good. I understand that the main ponds will not reopen until September.

Thanks Mike. We were headed to Bear River but we were driving into the rain so I turned off at Farmington. It’s distill good for a quick stop but I do like the bigger ponds.

Geesettes are goslings when you can’t remember what they are really called.
Thanks for looking.

Thanks for your comments. Got lucky with the night heron, it was quite close when it started flying and I was ready for a change.

Goslings, I believe is the correct term for young geese,
Great photo I have the same lens on my d500 or d780
