Just remembered recently photographing these machines. The first two photos show the extraction and winding of silk thread from silkworm eggs after they're softened in water; the third shows a weaver at work. All were taken in Turkey last fall. As I recall from the rug merchant's spiel, a single thread taken from an egg can be a mile long.

Fascinating!

Thank you for hosting this challenge, Kaskazi. I'm certain that the Hoggers will come through with many interesting photographs for viewing. I think I have several that fit the category, and a few that are borderline, which I might include as well, for consideration.

These are cool, Tony! Were you the engine for the cart???!!

I suspect that many of us who grew up in the '60's had a fascination with the space program and rockets. Said fascination is still alive in me. Here are some machines related to that topic.

p.6 Yes, I was one who was fascinated by the space program and the astronauts

I think you found a topic we haven't done! Here are a few of mine. I don't think I have much machinery.

Super, eclectic series, Roxie.

For Tuesday, I have a few more that I believe fit the challenge. Several of these photos were made with my handy-dandy iphone.

p. 8 I certainly do remember slide rules. Math was so much easier when I finally caught on to how to use them. No way do I remember now.

LOL. I think that cart was well past needing an engine. It looked more like it could be used as a planter.
