I've heard of them, see their ads, etc. Prices almost seem too good to be true. I'm kind of boycotting anything from China. Just my own personal thing. Glad to see some have had good experiences.

TEMU is a Baltimore company wholly owned by a Chinese company much like Amazon and Aliexpress. I have ordered from both Aliexpress and TEMU with nothing but good results. My hi-tech watch is from TEMU and it works very well and is more accurate than my much costlier one from another source. I have purchased camera batteries from Aliexpress and I have never had a problem with any of them. They came with free chargers that I like better than the ones that I have from my camera supplier. For many things these are my go-to for quality and price. TEMU is the faster and if they deliver even one day after they say it will be delivered they give an automatic $5 discount on the next purchase. Aliexpress is getting faster, also. Just remember, as with any seller there can be a few bad guys but both TEMU and Aliexpress work very hard to eliminate them. I have never ordered from Amazon.

Recently I learned of a company that operates out of China that seems to be patterned somewhat after Amazon called TEMU. Whenever I see some photography gadget I usually buy on Amazon or pick up at my local Photoshop I'll check to see if they carry something similar. I recently purchased a sunscreen for my cell phone which I use as a monitor. The sunscreen added up being for a drone remote control but it fit perfectly on my phone screen (camera monitor). So I'm trying to set up an old phone as a monitor for my camera. That's just one step in my process I ended up getting the sunscreen for under $5 and the old phone of course was free so I have a monitor with the sunscreen setup which on Amazon would have cost about 200 bucks. They're supposed to be apps you can use to turn your phone into a monitor for your camera. I also just purchase some cold shoe and other metal what do you call those gear ball things you screw together with a quarter screw and the ball on the other end, can't remember what they're called at the moment, you know like the ball on a tripod. Anyway it's just a place to check to see what I can get there cheaper. I'm always looking to save a buck If possible. Oh and I just remembered I recently bought a bunch of small hard case camera bags for my point and sheets and my exposure meter. I take the small flint and shoots out when I'm running an errand or doing something and I might want to shoot a picture. So they ended up being a lot cheaper, the small I don't know 6x 10 in hard shells for like 20 bucks or more on Amazon and they ended up being less than five bucks a piece on Temu, I also use AliExpress.com a lot they have an app too.

I looked them up on Trustpilot because "if it's too good to be true . . ." They have terrible customer service, many reviewers reported receiving shoddy goods, not at all like those pictured in their snazzy website. It makes me angry that people are falling for their crap. I am not buying anything (even kitty beds) from TEMU.

Amazon prices are not always the cheapest, but their customer service is outstanding, and it's worth it to me to buy knowing I can return if it doesn't fit, isn't the right color, etc. I am starting a bath renovation and ordering many items from vendors through Amazon because I know if I need to return it, there won't be a hassle.

LOL, I didn't know about Temu until it showed up in ads here on UHH!

Seems mostly low-quality items, but sometimes that is OK.

I buy at a local store when I can. Avoiding Chinese and Russian sites seems prudent to me. Does trade with them help build bridges or increase conflicts? Both, I think.

Good luck not buying anything from China at any site or store.
They make most of our electronics and everything else.
It's not good, USA needs to bring more manufacturing home.

As much as possible. Sadly, so much U.S. manufacturing was tanked by NAFTA. American factory towns died, and China embarked on the path to become an economic powerhouse. We are only now realizing the depth of that economic fallout. Thank you President Clinton.

US manufacturing was tanked by the consumers not by any company or goverment.

I looked into them, where I learned. You have something broken, it was impossible to get in touch with them . You have something not arrive, they wont follow thru for you. Shipping 30 days? many report up to 3 months to get an item. the few good reviews were far out weighed by the bad reviews. There was 2 reports that I read where after using the site , someone was using their credit card number to buy items .
I decided to stay away.

Exactly. There are reports of malware in a couple of those Chinese Amazon's. Google it.
Also if we buy American we have jobs. If we buy Chinese they have jobs. Someday soon your grandchildren will want jobs. I guess. Lol lol

Yes most Americans don't know where the the products they buy come from although by law most of them have such a label.

Obviously some of the stuff we buy through US companies have been made in China but I don't hve to knowingly buy from a company like Temu who I know are chinese. AND, NO I will not buy and electric car. On larger purchases like TVs it's not difficult to research where they are made.

Making no judgement but I'd like to suggest something to keep in mind. Personally I do not do any more business with Chinese sourced products than necessary. I have nothing against the the Chinese people but their tyranical political system derives it's power from the strength of the economy which has clearly engaged in economic conflic with our own system.

A very good point and I agree.

Steel fabrication, for example, thrived here in the U.S. The Government and private businesses contracted with large corporations like Boeing and Ford to produce steel parts for planes, trains, automobiles, etc.. These corporations subcontracted to smaller precision fabrication shops. There were hundreds, employing skilled workers who made good wages and had good benefits. Within 5 years of NAFTA, most of these shops were gone, the workers out of work - many of whom had been with these smaller companies their entire careers. My husband was one of them - out of work at 50 after over 25 years at the same shop, having risen from production, to manager, eventually to VP. They tried to reinvent themselves to make other things - Made in America - but it didn't work out.

Yes, we want less expensive goods, but cheaper goods? Yes I buy Asian made goods, but I do pay attention to quality. Chinese made clothing, for example, is typically of lesser quality than clothing made in other countries. The reviews I read about Temu and the poor quality and poor customer service ensured I will not support them. I will support a company that markets good quality products. The Chinese know Americans will buy cheap throw-away crap, so they have no incentive to improve.
