Looking at the comparison of specs, if you dont need a few of the features of the Z9 aimed at working pros ,like its bigger buffer, more connectivity options , dual CF-Express B memory card slots, integrated battery grip, and a few other things like synchro terminal, the Z8 is a great choice at less price with the same sensor, and a few newer items the Z9 doesn't have .

Thanks. I didn't see prices. That would be a huge part of the decision. I wonder how people come up with specs based on rumors. Factory leaks?

I'm satisfied with my Z6 II and D750. I like the Z fc, too. Great retro looks.

We need to wait and see I guess…that's still a rumor site. In addition…the features are basically the same as the Z9 except for the battery life since it only has room for the EN-EL15 batteries or something the same size and it adds a couple of gimmick features.

Those features…basically a Z9 without a grip…either have to be cheaper than a Z9 which will take away a lot of Z9 sales…or if it's the same as the Z9 it will take those sales but at a similar price to the Z9. I can't really see Nikon knee capping the Z9 with a lower priced but essentially equivalent (except for the grip) body. However…if it is that at a lower price then I'm in the market…but I would really expect that at a lower price the FPS might be limited somewhat even through it's not necessary except to meet a price point and not kill Z9 sales.

I know it's fun to speculate…and I really don't care about a grip at all so a smaller body would be excellent…and I would really like Z9 AF in that smaller body because it's significantly better than my Z7II is…but Nikon needs to make money, support the flagship body, etc, etc…and a lot of the rumored prices and specs just don't seem to make sense from a business standpoint.

I watch a lot of photo-related YouTube videos, but I don't waste my time watching rumor videos. There must be hundreds of hours about what the Z8 will be like. First, they assumed there would be a Z8; then they guessed at the features and price. How about the Z10? That's what I want to know about. 😁

Jerry instead of wasting your time on Z8 rumors, why don't you start a new threads with new rumors. Here are some suggestions in no particular order.

Nikon Z10 will hit shelves before Z8
Nikon buys Sony's chip business
Canon provides new Nikon mirrorless camera with every commercial Canon copy machine.
UHH will be sold to China and members posting in the wrong section will be banned for 3 months.
Ban all informational videos that provide incorrect information.

That should keep you busy for a while!

From what I saw it is only about $500 cheaper (rumors). If this is so and I was in the market for either it would be Z9. I have the Z9 and if it's that close I'm not buying the car with hub caps as opposed to wheels.
