This time of year, it's all about the tulip fields and the festival in our small, but fun downtown core. We locals actually use different routes and plan our trips/times to avoid the onslaught of over 100,000 visiting people+(county population is just a hair over 100k) that attend, most years.
So, the obligatory walk to the street fair happened and while they may not be fields filled with tulips here are a couple of beauties that simply thrive next to the sidewalks of our city.

All handheld while being left behind by the family as I try to get a decent shot with low clouds and sprinkles threatening the impending rains that were to be be unleashed from the aforementioned cloud cover.
If I was really thinking things through I would have brought the 5D IV and not the 80D & 24mm prime, for these low light conditions. Alas, hindsight is always 20/20....

Thanks Mike, the edits were inspired by your tulip shots posted recently. I really like the colors and variety we have.

Thanks Jack! They do appreciate a mild climate. I’ll see if the fields survived the rough rain and wind this weekend. Fingers crossed 🤞!
