We have plenty of crickets in the US, they just haven't formed clubs here.

We don't have a town named after one in England with a cricket club?

Sorry ,you are wrong.

As a longtime news photographer in Philadelphia, PA. USA, I can tell you that there are several locations of the Philadelphia Cricket Club in the Philadelphia Pa. Area. Founded in 1854, with cricket played there, golf , tennis and more. I have covered many cricket matches there over the years.

From the website of the Philadelphia Cricket Club (Philadelphia Pa. and its suburbs, USA) :
" Cricket is the second most popular sport in the world (after soccer). As its name implies, The Philadelphia Cricket Club was started as a club to play cricket, and cricket was played here from the Club's inception until the 1920s. It was revived about 20 years ago and has enjoyed steady support since."

Do better research. LOL

A college friend of some 60 or so years ago who lived in Lower Merion, a suburb of Philadelphia, PA., talked occasionally of a Lower Merion Cricket Club but I don't remember any of the details.
