No where to be seen! Possibly due to having been recently weened. It was breeding season, and if a male finds a female with an offspring, the male will kill the baby to induce the female reproductive cycle (I was told this one week later by a guide in Katmai National Park).
Current Tamron 150-600mm and Sigma 150-600mm lenses have tested very good for image quality at 600mm, no worries there.
There are Sigma TCs for the Canon EF-mount Sigma 150-600mm lenses. And having the shorter focal lengths may be useful for some scenics too, without changing lenses.
Cheers, best to you, and have a great trip.
