Beautiful image - the lighting is nicely done especially given how close you had to be. You keep raising the bar.
Thanks, Mike. My go-to illumination is an LED panel soft light as the primary source placed over the subject about eight to ten inches. I hold a piece of vellum tracing paper about two inches over the subject to tame any hotspots due to the reflective qualities of the subject. I use a white bounce card under the positioner that the subject is mounted on. This opens any cast shadows that may have been created.
The higher the magnification, the closer the subject is to the tip of the optic so getting light on the subject without creating lens flare takes a bit of tweaking, a bit of cursing, a bit of coffee, and a lot of luck at times.
Wonderful. BTW... my late Mother's name was Violet. However, she was very tame. Never wild as far as I know. :)

Thanks, Jim. I believe mothers of our day were more of the "June Clever" (Leave it to Beaver) type than the want-to-be "Social Media Stars" the future generation of mothers will turn out to be.
