My grandson gave me a small hydroponics kit for Christmas - basil, dill and parsely. I set it up on our kitchen desk Jan 2nd and was harvesting by mid-February! It adds a little something to my lunchtime sandwich. As you might expect, the dill has raced way beyond the limits of the kit and has provided a lot of interest, particularly as it sprang into flower a couple of weeks ago. We have dill in the garden, but I never paused to notice the flowers - quite something, don't you think? I'm sorry my sight is not conducive to a better determination of focus on VF.

In front of it you see part of last year's gift - grow your own bonsai from seed - at my age! I planted 5 pine seeds Jan 15 '22 and 4 of them germinated between February and May (I posted some pics here). By October, they had all keeled over and composted themselves. Here you see remains, plus the fifth seed, which suddenly sprang up last month. Whether it too is headed for the compost, only time will tell.

Hello Larry and Bill.....I've been out shooting most of the day and then editing. A friend had the opening of his Maple Sugar House today and had asked me to grab some pix for him. I believe he is the only "big" family operation in our little town. It was cold! I was there for sun up as I knew the day was supposed to go downhill, so I was out the door by 6:30 at the latest. Maple Sugaring is a very important part of Maine life. Here are a few shots.

Neat stuff!!

During our last Challenge, there were pictures of Mt. St. Helens.
I have some. First 2 go back to 2016. The rest are from 2019 but entering from a lesser used southern entrance leading to Windy Ridge View Point.
