In 2014, my old college roommate, a hiker, and I were near Kanab, Utah, and on a lark, we stopped at the Bureau of land management and decided we would take a chance in the lottery for the Wave (North Coyote Bluffs). There were about 350 people signed in and the lottery would only be for 10 total persons. We lucked out and were chosen on the first draw for the next day for the 6.4 mile round trip hike on an unmarked trail. The hike is a rough one and about 2 1/2 hours each way. It is an incredible formation that cannot be captured in all its nuances in a day. I did get about 300 views that were all 5 shot brackets due to the incredibly strong contrasts at the midday.
