There is no way in Hell you are going to get the 1.2 lens used for 1000. Unless maybe it's all beat up. Or fell out of an airplane.

I sold mine here for $650, it did have a little fleck of barrel paint on one of the elements, it was tiny and had no effect on the image quality.

I don't understand why you feel you need seven lens or are you a professional photographer. I can see three or four but seven?

It’s pretty presumptuous and judgmental to question somebody else’s need for lenses. I have 8 Nikon lenses and 11 M4/3 lenses. What do you make of that?

Sorry, I misread that. I was thinking an RF lens. I should have reread what he said.

Honest mistake. You may come out of your room now

Very, very narrow! Takes a very steady hand and body. Tripod is best. But same is true with many f/2.8 lenses, especially is you’re close to your subject.

With my Leica 8.5CM f 1.5 lense I use a Gitzo mono pod with quick release. At 73 years of age it works quite well for me.

Often, I also use a Leitz handle grip that attaches to the 3/8 thread mount at the balance point at the base of the lens. I use the Summerex with a bayonet M Leica adaptor that fits into a universal body mount onto the Sony A7 body. Focus is dead on wide open.

Another point, I will use an elevated shutter speed and a high ISO on the camera, and no metering by the camera body. This all work flawlessly.

Absolutely. I have 7 Canons, 6 Fujis, and 4 Mamiya RB67 lenses. So what of it?

Thaz perfickly normal. The real question is "how many adapters do you have ?"

Adapters are obviously a verrrry good thing, given that so many Hawgsters are afraid of them !

Funny you say that I shoot with a Canon mirrorless and I have 4 adapters for EF lenses and I have several for old vintage lenses and they all work very well on my camera.

None (yet). Since the reason I bought into the Fuji system was size/weight, no reason to put heavier, larger FF lenses on the Fuji (I have considered it), and as far as the MF lenses, same issue. But because both my film 35mm (EOS-1N) and my FF digital take the same EF mount, all my EF lenses work on either body.

If I recall, you have several systems as well. Tell us more about how you adapt various lenses to various bodies - maybe something I haven’t considered.

The older vintage lenses can be fun and you can get some really nice lenses pretty inexpensively but they certainly in most respects don't measure up to new lenses but they don't cost nearly as much either. I got into them when I wanted a fast 50mm and did not feel back then that I could afford a new OEM lens. After I bought one I was hooked, I have several now but honestly I don't use them often but I won't let them go either. Once spent several days shooting Arizona with a 35mm Takumar f/3.5 and got some excellent images.

I find this statement more than bazar "you can get some really nice lenses pretty inexpensively but they certainly in most respects don't measure up to new lenses but they don't cost nearly as much either".

While it may be true for many photographers that vary old lenses can be measured against strange notions of "a good" lens, one can enjoy an uncorrected box camera lens from an old brown camera as a perfectly functional lens to do traditional soft focus work with a 4X5 view camera.

Another is the 121 Super Angulon f8 on both the 4X5 and 8X10 view cameras.

The classic Leitz 50mm f 2 Summitar lens for Leica cameras.

Loooooong story so how bout just some highlites, tip of the iceberg stuff.

I have the Megadap so I use a common set of lenses for FF Sony and Nikon Z.

Got into Z mainly for Leica M-mount. I use the adapter with helical cuz rangefinder lenses need help for close focus.

Using a few EF-S lenses on Sony APSC and also on m4/3. The crop factor between EOS APSC and m4/3 is only 1.25x.

And acoarst I use EF lenses on the Zs ... doesnt everybody ?
