Good cheap cameras (probably $50-$100)
Canon A series: used AA batteries, and had a viewfinder.
Canon S series, Fast (f2:0 lens,) 5x zoom, but no viewfinder
Fuji FXXX EXR (several models),
Panasonic Lumix FZ35 (a bridge camera)
There are many others that other UHHers have experience with.
Note that I have a Fuji f500exr and a Lunix fz35 that I would sell cheap. They are just cluttering up my closet. Both with chargers and batteries.
I'm having trouble using this site. Apologies ..... I asked how much you wanted for the Lunix fz35

I still have a Nikon Coolpix L820. AA batteries. Occasionally take with me in the car for small size with good reach.
My Coolpix s9600 is my ‘car camera’. Always like to have a camera in the car in case it is needed. Also produces some mighty fine images.

While I bought a new Fuji mirrorless cameral during the pandemic, I still grab a Panasonic Lumix point and shoot if I don't want to carry lots of equipment. The Lumix cameras all have Leica lenses. I have had several. Recently, I replaced a ZS70 with a used ZS100 because it has a 20.1 megapixel 1" sensor.
The Lumix I have always seemed to outperform the Kodaks etc.
Far better low light performance.

Canon Powershot G12
G12 beautiful little camera, rechargeable batts, sd card, very versatile, good macro, swivel screen, viewfinder and Raw I believe, wonderful results. Love mine for a small pocket camera
The BEST - I mean BEST! P&S was the Sony R1 bridge camera. It has not yet been surpassed - and most of you have never even heard of it!
I am also not too good at using this site. But at 82 y/o, I am a little behind the times.
Anyway, I think that I sent you a message with details and a price of $50 plus shipping.
Please let me know if you got it and are interested.
Thanks
The best is the one you have with you. The worst is the one you left at home.

I recently bought a LUMIX ZS70 as my car/bike always with me camera. It replaced a Canon G16, which I converted to IR. Either would serve you well, I think. A few here on UHH have the ZS80 or 100 and are pleased as well. I also have a Canon G1x iii that I really like. It’s a 24-70mm equivalent with a APC-C size sensor. The only downside IMO for the G1x iii is I wish the lens were a little brighter.
Tier 1 -
Sony RX100 vii - 24-200mm lens
Sony RX100 VA - fast lens
Canon G5X Mark ii - longish lens 21-120mm and fast
Tier 2
Panasonic 100 - longish lens, pretty good picts
Olympus Stylus 1 - long lens, to 300mm, pretty fast, f2.8 all the way
Tier 3
Panasonic ZS80 - long lens, to 720mm, small sensor
Casio 100 - long lens, small sensor
Sony HX99 - long lens, small sensor
Olympus TG6 - Lens to 100mm, waterproof, small sensor
These are my choices for a point and shoot camera. Only the ones I own. There are probably some others. All these are pretty good.

Yeah, we recently moved and sold stuff to downsize. Why not use a cell phone, assuming you have one. I have taken some good photo's with it for general photos as well.
