Or like saving window focus. Currently if you are focused on window A and move focus to window B, then close window B, Windows returns focus to window A. Mac has nothing with focus.
Also, clicking on an icon on the toolbar opens an app. Clicking on the icon again in Windows minimizes the app. Clicking on the icon in Mac does nothing. It's nice to be able to use clicking on the toolbar to display an app, then turn it off and display the previous app, then click again and display the app again. Makes it easy to compare things in different apps without moving the mouse.

The cursor on the Mac moves too slow along the line. If I want to go to the end of a line, I have to press END twice.

For me, the issue is which OS thinks the way I think. Computers, at their core, are really quite similar, but the OS is what everybody is talking about. I use both depending on where I'm at. So, for me, it comes down to two basic things: 1)how often I need to fix something and 2)who is going to pay for it. I'm glad that, at work, I have a whole team of techs who can fix anything. At home, I'd hate to spend a lot of my money fixing the beast. So, I'm a Mac guy at home and a PC guy at work. The Mac just gets out of the way and seldom breaks down. Both my Macbook and my iMac are over 8 years old and they still get the job done. Both are just platforms that support the programs I use daily. The real juice is the various programs I need to do my job. I fight with the programmers every day to fix problems there so I am more efficient. At home, I get to select the best programs myself.

I salute you! I worked that way for years. But I had both a Mac and Windows PC on my desk at work, because I did things as part of my job that required both.

The problem with corporate developer types may be that some of them ARE NOT users of their own systems. They don't have to eat their own dog food. As a trainer and content developer for training, I wrote lots of software manuals for in-house IT projects. My mantra became, "If I can't write a manual for your software, that software doesn't work." I was writing, "It doesn't work..." memos on a regular basis. Often, a developer fixed my issue and broke something else in the process...

I kept telling IT, "Get the user interface right, first. Code comes last. Know your users' jobs better than they know their jobs. Get inside their heads with them and see your software from their perspective, and you'll develop a system that works!"

I learned that lesson by doing my own simple "small systems" database development in the 1990s and early 2000s. I'd get everyone involved in a workflow around a big table and have them explain their job functions and what they needed as an outcome. Then we talked through the whole process until we agreed on it and had a plan. Then I'd design the UI, and show it to them before tidying the back end with real tables and functions. We tested as a group, to be sure it worked as intended.

The result? My systems worked. That pissed off IT, but opened doors for me. Sometimes results are more urgent than diplomacy.

Interesting. I used a Mac at home and a PC at work for years, and I always found the Mac inherently easier to use, navigate, etc. That’s why I am still a Mac fan, but to each his own.

My Daughter has always used Windows laptops or desktops that I built for her. A couple of years ago she went to best buy to purchase a new laptop with windows and a salesman talked her into buying a Mac laptop also. Two weeks after having them the Mac laptop took a nasty trip down the stairs, on purpose! Her husband is very forgiving.

Windows users are smarter because they can do anything that a Mac user can do, for half the price.

I have been a Mac person since I can remember. That's not saying much considering I can't remember what I did yesterday, however, when I try to do something on my wife's windows based machine I'm immediately lost.

Yep, and they are much cheaper to fix or upgrade.

I think you mean they are possible to upgrade.
