There is a little pizza shop in Hoboken, NJ that I really like. The walls are plastered with B&W photos of politicians and other famous people. When I travel to NYC, I like parking in Hoboken and taking the PATH over to the city. I always get pizza from this place when heading back to the car. Nice thin crust -- true NY style pizza!

My answer:
1. Enough tomato sauce that you can taste it
2. Medium-thin crispy crust (not saggy or underbaked)
3. Evenly spread cheese.
4. Served still hot.

To me, a cheese pizza isn’t really a pizza. Give me a thin crust with sausage, mushrooms, onions, pepperoni, etc. Just skip the black olives.

My favorite is Pineapple and Pepperoni. I also prefer a blend of Mozzarela and Chedder cheese.

Grew up around the old Italian shops around NYC...plain...crispy crust.
A really good pizza shop can pull that off.
The ones that can't...use toppings as a positive marketing angle.

But the best pizza I ever had was in a beach dive in Puerto Rico...a garlic octopus pizza...it was amazing.

I don't mean how much. I mean how do you like it prepared? I like a regular cheese pizza. The local place used to do a sesame seed crust, but they stopped that. Sometimes, we'll get it with sausage, but I'm a purist. If I was forced to eat a pepperoni pizza, I'd remove all the pepperoni.

Only - sausage & green peppers - termed a "Special" at https://www.vicspizza.com. I travel 55 miles (one way) for it. It's been there since 1947. Growing up, I lived 2 blocks from it. Still owned by same family. It's the only pizza I eat.

My wife and I have been making pizza for over 40 years, experimenting and learning. Last year I built a basic pizza oven from inexpensive materials...all dry stacked concrete products. After a few bakes, we got the process down. Regardless of baking method though, the secret to a great crust is making the dough with double zero flour.

We went to a restaurant once and my wife got a cheese pizza and I got octopus. The cheese pizza was kind of meh so we added some octopus and it was really tasty.

Thin crust, sausage and cheese please. When I can get there, Frank Pepe’s for the best I have ever eaten.

I'm with you re Pepi's. Go there several times a month. In fact I was there yesterday afternoon and there was a line outside at 2 pm.
As for what to order there's only one choice IMHO. Their white clam pie.
Small clam pie and a Pepi's salad and I'm in heaven!

I'm not fond of eggplant on veggie pies, I like most toppings , too many cheese pies in a row get boring, Peperoni good, sausage, meatball, oh yeah even pepper and onion. Used to be a place in the alley near Wall Street, hole in the wall. line out the door. you could see the pizza come out of the oven, all kinds, and disappear before you got to the server, eat it standing up in the 'dining room' , no chairs, no room, little narrow shelves on the walls. Good Pizza!!!

My kinda place Bob. It's what we used to call "Street Pizza"

It's probably just me but God never meant for pineapple to go on pizza.
Another "topping" I heard of was MASHED POTATOES!
UGH!!

Wow! Talk about loyalty. Considering your time and gas that's expensive pizza

The best pizza I ever had was in a little pizza place up a side ally in Desenzano Italy on the shores of Lake Garda.
